[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As companies look for innovative solutions to solve customer problems, data is becoming more and more strategic. Of late, we have seen airlines leveraging their data to come up with innovative strategies to stay ahead of the game.
In an article appearing in The Digitalist Magazine, author Eva-Maria Roe notes that:
“…airlines have turned to social media to receive real-time insight into their customers’ experiences…”
However, Roe goes on to challenge the basic notion that companies having technology that gathers customer feedback from social media posts automatically means they know what to do with that data. Do they also have a solution that can aggregate that data to find key trends in innovative customer experience? Because if they don’t, they’ll need one.
“You gather massive amounts of data about the health and maintenance status of your aircraft. But if billions of data points are sitting locked away in lines of text, code, work orders, or notifications, you’re wasting money on maintenance costs and grounded aircraft,” Roe says.
This brings me to a key point: Many of today’s data-driven organizations are sitting on a plethora of valuable data. Unfortunately, this data is totally locked away, unused and wasted. If tapped in to this innovative data, the future could be here before you know it.
Ultimately, what matters most is that you have the right data empowering your organization – data that helps you run your business, enabling you to do more with less. When you embed and combine intelligent technologies such as AI, machine learning, the Internet of Things, and blockchain, you gain the power to process massive amounts of data. Intelligent technologies from SAP help you manage your data and create innovative insights that optimize your operations.
Read the new e-book from SAP entitled, “The Digital Airlines Industry: Unlocking New Business Value with Intelligent Technologies.” This e-book aims to help you understand how the modern airline industry leverages data to steer clear of problems that keep planes on the ground rather than in the sky.
The ability to tap into data from within your business and not just gather it, can differentiate you from your competitors, keeping them grounded and you flying high on innovation and innovative solutions.
Let me know what you think.
